TAMPA, FL – Under a clear Florida sky and the steady hum of the midway, the 2026 Florida State Fair wrapped up Monday after 12 days of sunshine-filled fun, deep-fried favorites and blue-ribbon bragging rights.
Held Feb. 5 through Feb. 16 at the Florida State Fairgrounds, the annual event drew families, students and thrill-seekers from across the region for what organizers called “America’s Sunniest Celebration,” a nod to the nation’s 250th anniversary.
Fairgoers strolled past brightly colored ride towers set against blue skies, weaving between food stands serving everything from classic corn dogs to over-the-top dessert creations. More than 90 rides and games filled the midway, offering options for young children, families and adrenaline lovers alike.
Agriculture remained central to the fair’s mission, with 4-H and FFA students showcasing livestock projects and competing in contests ranging from steer shows to baked goods and crafts. Inside the barns, exhibitors brushed and prepped animals while judges awarded ribbons recognizing months of preparation and care.
Visitors also explored Cracker Country, the fairgrounds’ living history village that recreates 19th-century Florida life, offering demonstrations of pioneer-era trades and hands-on history lessons. Just steps away, guests could cool off inside the Expo Hall or artisan and craft exhibit, where rows of vendors filled the spaces with everything from handmade crafts and specialty foods to home improvement products, boutiques and community organizations. The indoor marketplaces provided a shaded break from the sun while adding another layer of browsing and discovery to the fair experience.

By late afternoon on the final day, families carried oversized stuffed animals, souvenir cups and purchased goods towards the exits as the sun cast long shadows across the fairgrounds. Though the music faded and the gates closed for the season, the fair left behind sticky fingers, sun-warmed smiles and anticipation for when the midway returns next year.
