OCALA, FL – The College of Central Florida will close its campuses Monday, Feb. 16, in observance of Washington’s Birthday as a part of Gov. Ron DeSantis’ statewide commemoration of America’s 250th birthday.
All on-campus and online classes and activities scheduled for Feb. 16 are cancelled. The CF Post Office on the Ocala campus also will be closed. Some off-site clinical activities may continue as scheduled.
“CF is proud to be a part of celebrating our nation’s 250th anniversary and honoring America’s first president,” CF President Jim Henningsen said. “This holiday provides our students, faculty and staff with an opportunity to enjoy the Washington Birthday events held throughout the state.”
The college plans additional events throughout the year in honor of the American Semiquincentennial, including a special exhibit at the Appleton Museum of Art, a Constitution Day event and guest speakers.
