CF Wind Symphony Concert was held on April 11 from 7:30 p.m. A grand atmosphere and ecstatic vibes filled the auditorium as eager guests took their seats. Together, around 45 students performed three beautiful pieces ranging from loud and fun to soft and mellow. Over one dozen types of percussion blended wonderfully with every piece played.
Along with being a fun concert for the family and friends of the band members, along with CF administration and students, it was also a sentimental time for CF wind symphony conductor John Ash and his family. This was the final concert Ash will ever conduct at CF. With bright new plans in the near future, his path has branched off from this season and will continue in another. You can tell from his passion and drive that he will deeply miss this piece of him, but he will continue to carry it with him in every aspect of his life.
“No amount of trophies or awards deem me as successful,” Ash stated. “These students behind me being successful makes me successful.”
He continued to share his dedication to all of those that have impacted not only his career, but this huge part of his life. After this, he introduces his last piece that he ever conducted as band director at CF, “Caprice.” This piece was not only the last that he conducted, but also the first piece he conducted in high school.
