The Softball Team Success in Their Game against the Buccaneers
The game of the season for the softball team
The CF Softball team played one of their toughest games on Feb. 20 when they played Florida Southwestern State College Buccaneers.
This game was close the whole game. The CF Patriots Softball scored first in the game when Odalys Cordova doubled.
Kamaya Cohen hit a single homerun in the fourth inning to left field.
Shortly after the Buccaneers scored as well and the game was tied 2-2.
In the bottom of the fifth inning, when Cordova hit a two run homerun giving CF the lead.
Madison Edwards pitched the entire game and did not let up. She pitched her heart into that game and knew that she needed to pitch her best performance for Coach Lingle.
The CF Patriots Softball dugout was beyond loud. They were cheering their teammate on so much and the energy was so positive.
The team totaled six hits altogether that game. Caroline Jacuay and Cordova both had multiple hits for the team, giving the Patriots the lead.
The entire game was back and forth, not knowing what was going to happen, but Coach Lingle never gave up hope in his players and trusted all of them and knew their talents.
Whoever Coach gave the ball to or whoever was put into the batter’s box, showed Coach Lingle that he could trust in them
Edwards was credited with the 4-3 victory with eight strikeouts and one walk.
Florida Southwestern put up a tough fight against Central Florida.
Every time CF put up runs on the board, Florida Southwestern tried to answer and get those runs back.
That is when Florida Southwestern tied the game, but CF shut down the Florida Southwestern offense in the top of the seventh inning, giving Central Florida the win over Florida Southwestern.
