The Phi Theta Kappa Honors Society will be hosting a charity event, “Stories and Sweetes,” on Wednesday, Feb. 19 from 12:30 to 2 p.m. at the Bedford Plaza on the Ocala campus. All donations from this event will go toward the expansion of the college food pantry.
“Stories and Sweets” offers a wide range of activities centered around literature and the CF community. Students are welcome to participate in a free event, “Speed Dating with a Twist.” Instead of sharing personal details, students can share their favorite stories, poems, books and more.
For those who like surprises, “Blind Date with a Book” will be available for $5 per person. Students will be asked to select a wrapped book based on a few keywords or genres, adding an element of mystery and intrigue to their next read.
In addition to these exciting activities, lollipops will be sold at the event for $1 each, which will enter them into a drawing for a chance to win a book series. A bookmark making station will also be available for those who want to talk about their reading experience.
Whether you’re looking to discover a new favorite book, share your love of literature or simply enjoy a fun afternoon with fellow readers, “Stories and Sweets” offers something for everyone. Don’t miss the chance to connect, contribute and celebrate the joy of storytelling.
