For many students, math can be overwhelming and difficult to understand. With the many different math subjects taught at the College of Central Florida, such as calculus, algebra and statistics, students often need additional assistance to learn these concepts. This is the exact reason the CF Ocala campus opened the math lab in 2008.
At the math lab, students are offered free tutoring. No appointment is necessary. Students are free to stop by when they feel the need. The math lab is open from 8 a.m – 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday and from 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. on Fridays.
Ian and Justin are two of the math tutors at the math lab. Both are qualified student tutors who are excellent at explaining difficult concepts. Ian is an engineering major and Justin is in computer science. Both of them explain that they enjoy helping their peers at the math lab.
“It is fun to develop people’s skills and work on lower-level math tricks,” said Ian and Justin.
Along with Ian and Justin, there are several other highly qualified teachers who are happy to help in any way necessary.
