The College of Central Florida’s Ocala Campus Student Activities Board has served CF students over the years with their events.
The SAB has been hosting events such as their Stressbuster, Waffle Wednesday and the International Food Festival every month during Fall and Spring semesters between class times to help students have a moment of fun before heading off to their next class.
During the events, students can partake in activities. Depending on the time of year and the event, students have participated in a variety of activities, such as cookie decorating, costume contests, succulent planting, photos with puppies, searching for decorated rocks on campus for prizes and more. There’s also an opportunity for students to win gift card drawings when they enter their student ID number at SAB events.
The SAB works with a variety of organizations and other clubs to set up events and activities for students to participate in. They have collaborated with student clubs and outside organizations including the GSA, International Club, STEM Club, The Appleton Museum, Everything But The Mime, The Donut Express and more.
The SAB also expressed their support for domestic violence awareness through their events. Through posts and small challenges, the SAB has shown their support in the fight against cancer, hosted blood drives each semester and recognized 9/11.
More than that, though, the SAB also hosts Mega Mondays, where speakers from different professions and walks of life visit to help students learn more about themselves and others, including lectures like Autism 101 and Stress & Time Management.
The SAB team has hosted their final event of the semester, but they’ll be back in Spring 2024 with more things to come. Support them by going to their hosted events and participating in their activities, where you may get goodies just for attending!
