“A Dickens Christmas: The Urban Family Holiday Exhibition” is one of Ocala’s best holiday traditions where visitors can experience the season’s charm and magic from Nov. 11, 2023 to Jan. 7, 2024.
Each year, the first floor of the Appleton Museum of Art comes alive with themed trees and architecture, an extensive collection of handmade nutcrackers from all around the world and a miniature Victorian village inspired by holiday favorites like “A Christmas Carol,” all items from the personal collection of local cardiologist Dr. Paul Urban and his family.
Saturday, Dec. 2, is the annual Urban Family Community Day, when guests can enjoy free admission to the museum. Visitors can view the village, create holiday crafts in the Artspace and pose for photos with Santa and Mrs. Claus. Food trucks will be onsite from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
CF students and staff can experience the Christmas magic for free all season long with a valid CF ID. Admission for non-student adults is $10. Tickets are $5 for children ages 6 through 17, and children 5 and under are admitted for free.
The museum is open Tuesdays through Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Sundays from noon to 5 p.m.
