This Saturday, Oct. 14, CF will be hosting the tenth annual Wear Your Wings 5K run. The college continues to uphold its unwavering commitment against domestic violence, and this year is no exception.
October is National Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and this event is dedicated to raising awareness and funds to support victims and survivors of domestic violence. The recent closure of Ocala’s local domestic violence shelter emphasizes the urgency of this mission.
The 5K run will be held at CF’s Ocala Campus. Participants can gather under the bell tower at 7 a.m. for registration and packet pickup, and the run/walk will begin at 8 a.m.
Participation medals will be awarded to the first 250 racers. Additionally, overall place medals will be awarded, and the top three participants in each age group (male and female) will receive recognition.
Guests are advised to use the Southwest 31st Avenue entrance and park near the Dassance Fine Arts Auditorium (Building 4). The race will commence near the bell tower.
Your active involvement and support can make a significant impact on the lives of those affected by domestic violence.
To register or donate, visit the official Wear Your Wings 5K website. Early registration is $30 per adult and $10 per child under the age of 10. Participants can also register at the race, but prices increase to $35.
